Xiaomi teases MIUI 12, likely to launch soon

           MIUI12 Lunch Soon

Once launched, the software will debut as the successor of the MIUI 11 that was launched by Xiaomi earlier in 2019. Here's what we know about it so far.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Xiaomi has teased its upcoming MIUI 12 OS
  • MIUI 12 could be launched very soon
  • The software will be the successor to the MIUI 11
Xiaomi’s officially teased its MIUI 12 software and said that it will be unveiled soon. The announcement was made through Xiaomi’s Weibo account which has posted a teaser to confirm the development of this new version of Xiaomi’s popular OS for its Android-based smartphones.
Once launched, the software will debut as the successor of the MIUI 11 that was launched by the Chinese in September last year. To remind users, Xiaomi first introduced MIUI 11 to global markets in October and the software soon found itself finding space on phones such as the Redmi K20, Redmi Note 7 Pro, and Poco F1 soon after revealing its global update roadmap in India.
The teaser that’s gone up on Weibo reveals a number of interesting things about the upcoming Android-based OS. This teaser hints that the MIUI 12 software is likely to include new system fonts and retain the minimalistic design that we saw on MIUI 11. However, since the teaser shows a gradient effect on the digit 12, we’re expecting Xiaomi to add new shades and colour schemes on the new MIUI version.
Apart from this, there is little else that’s known about Xiaomi’s upcoming software. The company hasn’t revealed what all the new changes that will be bringing to MIUI 12. However, more on this is expected to be revealed in the coming weeks.
Talking about Xiaomi, the company is also expected to launch the Mi Note 10 in India very soon. Currently, the Mi Note 10 is the only commercial phone in Xiaomi's lineup to come with the 108-megapixel camera. Xiaomi launched the Mi Note 10 in November of 2019 and it was the first smartphone to launch with Samsung's 108-megapixel sensor. The phone also debuted Xiaomi's first penta camera setup for the back. Earlier rumours suggested that Xiaomi could bring this phone to India by December but it now seems that it is launching in February.

Samsung Galaxy A41 announced with 6.1" OLED, vastly improved triple camera

The Samsung Galaxy A41 was seen in  multiple   leaks  earlier this year and now makes its official debut in Japan. It's a preliminary announcement rather since the Galaxy A41 is only scheduled to hit the shelves in June 2020. The Galaxy A41 brings notable improvements over the  Galaxy A40  starting with the larger 6.1" FHD+ Super AMOLED display. It still has a water waterdrop notch with a 25MP selfie camera, but there's now a fingerprint sensor underneath as opposed to around the back. The main camera setup uses a single vertical roll as opposed to the rectangular plates of most recent A-series phones. It's a major jump forward too, having a 48MP main shooter alongside an 8MP ultrawide snapper and 5MP depth helper. The Helio P65 chipset sits at the helm paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. The phone is powered by a 3,500mAh battery with support for 15W charging speeds. The A41 also gains IP68 dust and water resistance and will presumably launch with An...

Weekly poll: Xiaomi Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro bring the S865, skimp on zoom - was that a mistake?

The Xiaomi Mi Note 10 was an odd duck but its chipset of choice left many wanting. The new Mi 10 duo is both larger and more powerful than Note and it’s usually the other way around . The Xiaomi mi 10 brings the Snapdragon 865 chipset, the performance of which is a class above the S730G found in the Note phone. It also enables 5G connectivity, which is becoming increasingly important as carriers have already covered major metropolitan areas around the world. The upgrade to UFS 3.0 storage (from 2.0) will be tangible as well. The screen got a major boost - a 6.67” panel, up from 6.39” of the Mi 9 and 6.47” of the Mi Note 10. Better yet, this is the first Mi-series phone to boast a high refresh rate screen – 90Hz (though the Redmi lineup already has a 120Hz phone). Xiaomi equipped the Mi 10 with the 108MP sensor that Samsung designed for it. Thanks to the chipset upgrade, it’s capable of recording 8K video as well as 4K at 60fps. One major downside of the new flagship is ...
