The OnePlus 8 Pro has surfaced on Geekbench for the first time and has managed to post impressive scores thanks to the onboard Snapdragon 865 SoC. The device is shown to feature 12 GB of RAM and runs on Android 10. OnePlus is expected to announce the 8 series around the time of the Galaxy S11 launch in the next couple of months.
Leaks about the upcoming OnePlus 7 successor, dubbed the OnePlus 8, have been coming by at a steady rate. It is being rumored that we may get to see a total of three phones this year viz. the OnePlus 8, OnePlus 8 Pro, and a OnePlus 8 Lite. While we've only seen renders and purported specs of the upcoming OnePlus devices so far, this is the first time we are getting to see an actual benchmark result of the OnePlus 8 Pro.
The Geekbench listing goes by the name GALILEI IN2023, which seems to feature 12 GB RAM and runs on Android 10. The motherboard name 'kona' indicates that the device is powered by the snapdragon (as expected). The single-core score of 4,296 and the multi-core score of 12,531 further confirm that the OnePlus 8 Pro would be powered by Qualcomm's latest and greatest SoC.
Rumors so far indicate that the OnePlus 8 Pro could feature a 6.7-inch QHD+ AMOLED 120 Hz display with 50W Super Warp fast charging, and a possible IP53 rating for ingress protection. The OnePlus 8, however, is expected to stick to the FHD+/90 Hz combination while the new OnePlus 8 lite could sport the midia tech dimencity 1000L SoC, which was shown  to handily beat the snapdragon 765D leaked benchmarks.
OnePlus could time the 8 series launch sometime in February or March, possibly to steal some limelight from the Glaxy S11 launch around the same time.

Samsung Galaxy A41 announced with 6.1" OLED, vastly improved triple camera

The Samsung Galaxy A41 was seen in  multiple   leaks  earlier this year and now makes its official debut in Japan. It's a preliminary announcement rather since the Galaxy A41 is only scheduled to hit the shelves in June 2020. The Galaxy A41 brings notable improvements over the  Galaxy A40  starting with the larger 6.1" FHD+ Super AMOLED display. It still has a water waterdrop notch with a 25MP selfie camera, but there's now a fingerprint sensor underneath as opposed to around the back. The main camera setup uses a single vertical roll as opposed to the rectangular plates of most recent A-series phones. It's a major jump forward too, having a 48MP main shooter alongside an 8MP ultrawide snapper and 5MP depth helper. The Helio P65 chipset sits at the helm paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. The phone is powered by a 3,500mAh battery with support for 15W charging speeds. The A41 also gains IP68 dust and water resistance and will presumably launch with An...

Weekly poll: Xiaomi Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro bring the S865, skimp on zoom - was that a mistake?

The Xiaomi Mi Note 10 was an odd duck but its chipset of choice left many wanting. The new Mi 10 duo is both larger and more powerful than Note and it’s usually the other way around . The Xiaomi mi 10 brings the Snapdragon 865 chipset, the performance of which is a class above the S730G found in the Note phone. It also enables 5G connectivity, which is becoming increasingly important as carriers have already covered major metropolitan areas around the world. The upgrade to UFS 3.0 storage (from 2.0) will be tangible as well. The screen got a major boost - a 6.67” panel, up from 6.39” of the Mi 9 and 6.47” of the Mi Note 10. Better yet, this is the first Mi-series phone to boast a high refresh rate screen – 90Hz (though the Redmi lineup already has a 120Hz phone). Xiaomi equipped the Mi 10 with the 108MP sensor that Samsung designed for it. Thanks to the chipset upgrade, it’s capable of recording 8K video as well as 4K at 60fps. One major downside of the new flagship is ...
